Old fuse boards are potential fire hazards and also time consuming and awkward to replace when a circuit blows. If you don't have the correct fuse wire it can be tempting to replace the fuse with an inappropriate substitute (fire hazard). Of course you know you shouldn't and you intend to replace it later, but do you?

 

A modern consumer unit installed to the current wiring regulations with updated earth bonding and RCD protection provides a much safer home, simple re-setting and peace of mind.
